Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This policy explains how Ucar Studios, LLC (“Lervan,” “we,” or “us”) handles personal data when you use Lervan.

Information we collect

We collect account information such as your name and email address, the text and files you submit to a tool, basic usage records such as tool name and word count, and technical logs needed to keep the service secure and reliable. Paid plans are sold through Link, Stripe’s checkout service: Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe affiliate, is the reseller and handles your payment details, billing address, and tax information as an independent business under its own privacy policy. Link shares order information with us so we can provide and support your subscription; it may include your contact details, billing address, order details, and limited payment details such as card brand and last four digits. Lervan never receives or stores full card numbers or security codes. We do store the billing records needed to operate subscriptions, such as Stripe customer, subscription, and price identifiers, plan and subscription status, trial and billing-period dates, cancellation state, and webhook-processing records. We also retain transactional-email delivery records, including the message type, recipient account, provider message identifier, and send time, so we can deliver and troubleshoot account and billing notices. We also record a limited product event trail—such as page path, tool name, whether a request succeeded, response time, and signup or checkout stage—to understand the service funnel and diagnose slow or failing tools. These events never contain submitted writing, file names, email addresses, full payment details, raw IP addresses, or full browser identifiers.

How submitted content is processed

Text analysis, AI-detection, revision, citation, research, and study-tool requests may be sent through OpenRouter to the routed model needed to produce your result. Plagiarism requests are sent to Winston AI. File-conversion uploads are sent to CloudConvert for the conversion you request; Lervan does not save the uploaded or converted file to your account, and the returned download link expires after 24 hours. Ask your documents extracts text from the PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text, or Markdown file you upload so the service can answer questions about it; the temporary server copy expires after two hours of inactivity or earlier. Do not submit sensitive personal, financial, health, or confidential school records that are not needed for your request.

Optional Google Drive connection

If you choose to connect Google Drive, Lervan requests the limited Google Drive file scope so it can create only the editable documents you ask it to create. We store an encrypted Google authorization token for that connection; we do not import, browse, or store your existing Drive files. You can disconnect Google Drive from the file-converter workflow, which revokes the connection and deletes the stored token from Lervan.

How we use information

We use information to provide the tools you request, maintain your account, apply usage limits, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data. Lervan does not use submitted writing to train its own models.

Cookies and browser storage

Lervan uses essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, protect account flows, remember necessary preferences, and secure the service. We do not currently use advertising cookies or marketing trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy and add any consent controls required by law before using them. For traffic measurement we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first service that reports aggregate page statistics and does not track you across sites, fingerprint your device, or build a profile of you. Lervan also uses the same signed, first-party browser token that enforces anonymous tool limits to connect basic funnel events within one browser, and to count Free allowances per browser as well as per account, so a new Free account on the same browser shares the allowance already used there. It is not used to follow you across other websites, and client-side product measurement honors Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals.

Optional product and study emails

We send product updates, study tips, and offers only when you choose to receive them. You can change that choice at any time in Settings or through an unsubscribe link in a marketing message. Account, billing, authentication, and security emails are separate and may still be sent when needed to operate your account. Our email provider processes addresses on our behalf.

Service providers

We use Supabase for authentication and database services, OpenRouter and its routed model providers for text analysis, AI detection, revision, research, citation, and study tools, Winston AI for plagiarism checks, CloudConvert for requested file conversions, infrastructure providers to host and secure the service, Google for the optional Drive connection and requested document creation, Stripe for billing infrastructure, and Resend for service email. Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy commitments. For paid plans, Link sells the subscription as described above and controls the payment data it collects.

Retention

Account and usage records remain while your account is active and for the period reasonably needed for security, support, and legal obligations. Tool inputs are retained only when needed to deliver the requested result or investigate an error. Uploaded documents expire after two hours. Marketing-consent records are retained while we rely on them and as reasonably needed to show that we honored your choice. A minimal suppression record may remain after you opt out so that your address is not accidentally added again. We may retain de-identified aggregate usage data that cannot reasonably identify you. Lervan does not currently save tool drafts, converted files, or generated results to your account. Product event records are kept for up to 12 months unless a shorter period is sufficient for reliability and business analysis.

Legal bases and international transfers

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the tools and your subscription), for our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service, to comply with law, and with your consent for optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time. We are based in the United States, and our service providers process data there and in other countries; where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers’ EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile in Settings and ask us to access or delete your account data. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to correct, export, restrict, or object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. If you live in the EU, the UK, or another place with a data protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority; we would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Security and age

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Lervan is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. If local law requires parental consent at an older age, you may use the service only with that consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account or given us personal data, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, contact us at the address below.
